Have I mentioned lately just how awesome Anacrusis is? Blink fiction is apparently the term, if you're willing to be that pretentious--101 words a day, self-contained and whole, some funny, some sad, some adventurous. They aren't truly stories, there's no beginning or end--they sound kind of like excerpts from novels. They all work as their own thing, and most of them are unconnected to each other, but one appears every once in a while with recurring characters that occasionally overlap--taken together, one character's thread, doesn't quite tell a whole coherent story, but the characterization is phenomenal and what you do get about their stories is really interesting. I suggest reading Chicago (intense, dramatic) or The Chosen Ones (actiony, funny) first. Start at the bottom and work up.
